Deadlines are quite scary for graphic designers. They meet deadlines almost all the time. How to cope with deadlines? Simply do these 5 things!

1. Write everything down and pin all those notes on the wall

write everything down

So, what’s the first thing you need to consider with regards to how to cope with deadlines? It’s all about memory. You cannot force your brain to remember everything, every detail. Help your brain by writing everything down and then pin all those notes on the wall. Seeing the visual version is much better and easier rather than just thinking about it.

But if you decide to write things down, you should be very organised. One way you can do it is by separating different clients with different colours. You’ll get that satisfaction throwing away those notes when you are finished with your projects.

2. Always plan ahead

Know your own capacity, if you’ve already got plenty of projects, it’s not a good idea to accept another job offer. Don’t take every project offered to you. It’s wise to say no sometimes.

4. The most crucial stage should be your priority

what is your priority

In every design process, prioritising is the key. Most graphic designers usually spend the most time at the sketching stage. So, make the sketching stage your priority.

Next, if you’ve got some clients at the same time, prioritise projects in order of importance.

Clients may sometimes come first, but not all the time. If you want to produce the best results, you have to be in the best condition too, and the best way to do it is by taking care of yourself.

You need to feel fresh. So, take regular breaks. Also, eat well and sleep well. Nobody is going to die if you don’t finish the project by the end of the day.
